Celestron 10x50 Nature DX ED Binoculars The award-winning Nature DX Binoculars from Celestron gets a major upgrade with the addition of ED objective lenses. The Nature DX ED 10x50 Binoculars optical performance rivals that of more expensive binoculars, at a price to fit your budget. Generous 50mm objective lenses gather lots of light, making these binoculars an ideal choice when viewing conditions are dim, such as at dawn or dusk. With 10x magnification, this model is an excellent choice for long distance viewing or surveillance. ED Objective Lenses Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glasses virtually eliminate chromatic aberration, also known as color fringing, a visual defect common in binoculars. Nature DX ED delivers razor sharp images, even at the edges of the field of view. ED glass is also known for producing images with outstanding, true-to-life color. These high-quality ED lenses from Celestron deliver visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars. The difference is especially apparent in low light conditions, such as at dawn or dusk. Coatings and Prisms Nature DX ED features fully multi-coated optics. A binocular can be considered fully multi-coated when all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings so that the maximum amount of light passes through the glass to the eye. The prisms inside Nature DX ED are made of high quality BaK-4 glass with phase coatings applied so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. Taken together, the fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for the remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The ED objective lenses further enhance these features, especially in low light conditions. Durable Body Construction A durable rubber armored, polycarbonate housing protects your Nature DX ED Binoculars from damage. Viewing through Nature DX ED is comfortable for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. Twist through multiple click stops to find the position that works best for you. What’s more, the binocular is fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of lenses. Nature DX ED can stand up to even the toughest outdoor conditions. Perfect for a Variety of Uses Nature DX ED 10x50 offers up to 10x magnification, which is perfect for up-close views of distant subjects. Despite its higher magnification, the binoculars maintain a close focus of just 8.2 feet. The 50mm objective lenses are large enough to gather lots of light, while still being lightweight enough to use without a tripod. Added Convenience Carry your Nature ED on the comfortable included strap. It’s also tripod-adaptable, so you can mount it on any standard photographic tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). The tripod adapter is sold separately. The binoculars also include a protective padded nylon case for storage and transport. Celestron Basic Smartphone Adapter (1.25 inch) The smartphone adapter connects your smartphone to your telescope, so you can capture images and video through the eyepiece. With its light rigid frame, this accessory allows you to connect any smartphone to any telescope eyepiece with an outside diameter of 45 mm or smaller. The additional magnification provided by the eyepiece allows your phone to capture great images of the Moon and planets. This smartphone adapter installs easily by clamping over the top of an eyepiece. The smartphone is held in position with the help of tightening knobs that securely lock your phone in place. Some large and/or bulky phone cases (including folio style cases) may need to be removed for the phone to fit in the adapter. The adapter stands up to rigorous field use thanks to its robust, durable construction with a metal body.
