Made from the same material as a mousepad with a soft polyester blend surface and a rubber backing. Great option for playing outdoors as the corners will lay flat and the rubber bottom grips the table or playing surface. This beautiful mousepad chess mat is printed with a replica of camphor and oak wood grain. The wood grain will pair well with wooden pieces. We also recommend weighted pieces because the extra cushion and thickness of the board prolongs the lifespan of the weights. This chess mat meets the World Chess Federation's (FIDE) and the US Chess Federation (USCF) proportions standards for tournament play. The board measures 20 inches (50.8 cm) with 2.25 inch squares (5.715 cm) 0.06 inch thickness (1.52 mm). The board squares will fit chessmen with 1.75 to 2 inch diameter base.
