The Yamaha Professional Tenor Saxophone includes new design features which make the instrument a recognisable 62 model. Its new neck comes with a slightly narrower bore that gives this sax a faster response and greater control than ever before. It allows a comfortable flow of air through the neck, which produces great intonation throughout the saxophone. A professional style neck receiver makes the whole instrument more rigid by creating an increased togetherness of the neck and body, resulting in a better resonance through the instrument and deeper, richer tones.
The integrated key posts on the Yamaha have been aligned onto a single plate which results in a greater resistance and a solid core with deep tone colour. A new and improved Low B-C# connection mechanism ensures a definite closure of bottom keys, giving a clear response from the lower range of notes. Harder steel springs on the improved model cater for a faster and more sensitive response. The hand engraving has changed too, now with finer detail offering a slightly more delicate look.
