Cautions: 1.When you use this detector the first time, please fill 20-30ml oil, not beyond this range. 2.New oil can be filled with only when the smoke is light, and it can't be filled over 15ml every time. 3.Before filling new oil, please pour out the remaining oil in the detector. 4.Please replace the detector oil regularly. How to use: 1.Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover. 2.Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected with detector. If the pipe needs to be disconnected in the middle. Please secure the other side with a rubber stopple. 3.Secure this side with proper taper stopple/pipe, and connect it with smoke output tube. 4.Connect detector with DC12V battery: red with positive, black with negative. Do not connect in a contrary way. 5.Turn on the power switch, and detector starts to work. 6.In about 3 minutes, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use head lamp if necessary. 7.After leak detection, please connect well the wires and pipe. Notes: * Please do leak detection away from smoke-sensitive parts. * Do not run the detector over 8 minutes. It needs interval rest. * The detector has protector. If it exceeds working limit, it will power off automatically. In this condition, please operate it later. * The round parts of this detector is with temperature, be careful to avoid scalding injury. It is suitable for all family cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, light trucks and speedboats. It is the great partner of car diagnose tool. It works with the car diagnose tool to accurately locate the physical fault of the car and quickly detect the hidden fault of the car engine. Machine Structure A- Power switch of smoke generator. When the power is on, press this switch, the indicator POWER lights up, indicates that the smoke generator power is normal. B-Power switch of air pump power. Press the AIR MODE, pump starts working, only after this, you may press and start the SMOKE MODE; C- Switch of smoke. Press SMOKE MODE to start smoke smoke. In this mode, if the machine that has insufficient smoke oil, or the working time is too long, the system will get overheat and the ALARM light will light up until the temperature drops to the normal range, and the machine will resume operation; D - Smoke oil filling port. The total amount of one-time filling does not exceed 100ml smoke oil, the scale does not exceed the MAX, the first filling amount increase higher than 100ml is normal. E-Venting pipe. Through which smoke is into the automotive piping system; F- Power socket. Plug in the power cable here to provide working power for the machine; G- Visible window of barometer. If there is no leak in the system, you can observe through this window that the flowmeter stays at the bottom, the gauge pointer rises; if the system has a leak, the flowmeter floats up and the gauge pointer drops; H- Pressure adjustment button, to adjust the smoke flow rate; I- Pressure gauge. It can be changed by the pressure gauge indicator, and quickly observe whether the automobile pipeline system leaks; J- Hook. It make it easy to fix the machine to the car. K- Level gauge. It can help visual observation of the oil level and condition left inside the equipment. If the oil is yellow, the oil needs to be replaced. L- Oil drain port. When the equipment is used, drain the oil to prevent the deposition of particles, and keep the internal seal of the equipment after emptying, to prevent the affect the function of the equipment. Operation Steps: 1. After assembling the leak detector accessories, fill in about 100ML of smoke oil for the first time, the scale should not exceed the MAX indicator, the filling can work continuously for 15 minutes or so; 2. Open the engine cover and remove the air filter. For some models of cars, you need to remove the air flow sensor. 3. Place the air inlet adapter on the engine intake hose port and plug the pipe tightly, make sure it is closed inside without air. 4. Connect the power cable to the car battery. The red battery clip is connect the battery positive pole and the black clip connects the battery negative pole. 5. Turn on the power switch, the indicator light POWER lights up, indicating that the smoke generator is powered normally. Press the AIR MODE air pump to start working. Only after this mode is started, you may start SMOKE MODE; 6. After the AIR MODE air pump starts working, pay attention to the pressure gauge scale. If the scale exceeds 15 PSI, the flowmeter will sink and stay still at the bottom, indicating that there is no leak detected. If the pressure rises slowly, the flowmeter monitors that there is always air inflow, then it is necessary to check whether the access system is installed properly. If there is no mistake after checking, it is detected that there is leakage in the detected system, then press the SMOKE MODE button. 7. Press the SMOKE MODE button and the smoke starts running.In this mode, if the machine that has insufficient smoke oil, or the working time is too long, the system will get overheat and the ALARM light will light up until the temperature drops to the normal range, and the machine will resume operation; 8. For different models of cars, the engine interior will be full of smoke in about 1 minute, and the system will be checked for leak points; 9. After the inspection is completed, remove the power cable and collect the accessories for the next time. The body of air intake adapter (inlet air bag) is made of rubber, please avoid expose to corrosive liquids such as gasoline. EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (EVAP) DETECTION METHOD The American cars produced after 1996 are equipped with EVAP service ports; The EVAP service ports are usually located in the engine compartment for most US cars but elsewhere for some special cars. Conventional EVAP detection method: Open the plastic cover of the EVAP service port, then remove the one-way valve clockwise with a valve wrench and install the EVAP service port adapter to import the smoke into the EVAP system for leak detection.
