These speakers have all the high end components and sound of 's standard frame models but use a stealthy trimless design that blends into the ceiling. The micro flange grilles have an indiscernible trim ( 0.15" ), giving the ACE speakers a sleek appearance. Step-up features include contour switches that allow you to tailor the bass and treble as well as a pivoting silk dome tweeter. The ACE Series may be hard to see but you'll hear the outstanding sound quality in both whole house and home theater applications. The three cone sizes provide solutions to almost any application, large or small, and these speakers provide excellent power handling capability (175W/150W). The pivoting, silk dome tweeter design can be aimed toward the listening area Convenient Contour Switches ACE In-Ceiling Pro models feature front-mounted contour switches that let you tailor frequency responses to your room arrangement. You won't find yourself wishing for more or less treble, mid-range, or bass output from one speaker just because you don't happen to sit right between them. This is due in part to the pivoting, silk dome tweeter design that can be aimed toward the listening area of your choice. This can make a big difference in the listening experience, especially if the comfy spot you like is not ideal in terms of speaker placement. For low to mid frequencies, all of the Pro Series ACE Trimless Frame In-Ceiling speakers use a sturdy carbon/mica-filled polypropylene cone with butyl rubber surround. All models supply excellent bass, but the ACE840 offers the most bass frequencies due to the larger 8" cone. This speaker is perfect for larger rooms or rooms with high ceilings. In addition, the butyl rubber that surrounds all the cones in the Pro Series has almost double the shelf life of foam and gives speakers more excursion capability for deeper bass with a wider frequency response. Easy to Mount Like all speakers, the Pro Series Ceiling Speakers include brackets (commonly referred to as dog ears) that make installation a snap. Once the hole has been cut, simply to remove the grill to access to the mounting screws that activate the dog-ear brackets. We recommend activating the dog ear to loosen them up for smoother operation of the mechanism, then reset them before putting into the ceiling for actual install.
