Sufjan Stevens Carrie & Lowell LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Vinyl LP Marks a Return to Stevens' Earlier Works! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Carrie & amp; Lowell is the seventh studio album by American musician Sufjan Stevens, released through Asthmatic Kitty on March 31, 2015. Unlike Stevens' last studio album, the electronic The Age of Adz, Carrie & amp; Lowell is sparsely instrumental and marks a return to the performer's indie folk roots. The album was released to high critical acclaim, with many critics calling it one of Stevens' best. Sufjan Stevens mixes autobiography, religious fantasy, and regional history to create folk songs of grand proportions. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Carrie & amp; Lowell sounds like memory: it spans decades yet does not trade on pastiche or nostalgia. Sufjan recounts the indignities of our world, of technological distraction and sad sex, of an age without neither myths nor miracle - and this time around, his voice carries the burden of wisdom. Carrie & amp; Lowell accomplishes the rare thing that any art should achieve, particularly in these noisy and fragmented days: By seeking to understand, Sufjan makes us feel less alone. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Carrie & amp; Lowell is the most harrowingly personal work Stevens has offered us to date; it also ranks with his most skillfully crafted albums despite its spartan approach, and it's a sometimes difficult but profoundly moving work. Stevens has offered us some fine albums in the past, but he's never made anything quite like Carrie & amp; Lowell. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Mark Deming, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Sufjan Stevens Carrie & Lowell Live - Blue Bucket of Gold 12" Vinyl Single (Translucent Blue Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Live Performance On Translucent Blue 12 & quot; Vinyl! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Asthmatic Kitty Records is pleased to announce Carrie & amp; Lowell Live, an audio and visual document of Sufjan's November 9, 2015 performance at North Charleston Performing Arts Center in South Carolina. The translucent blue 12 & quot; release includes & quot;Blue Bucket of Gold & quot; on one side, a cover of Drake's & quot;Hotline Bling & quot; featuring Gallant on Side B, and a digital download to the full 16-track set. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The show, which was designed by Marc Janowitz, incorporated an expansive lighting display and cathedral-like LED columns featuring home videos shot by Sufjan's maternal grandfather, Nick Marabeas. Much of this vintage footage highlights family birthdays, graduations, and weddings of Carrie and her siblings from the late 1940s through the early 1970s, lending the performances the emotional arc of a memorial, celebrating Carrie's life and meditating on her death with a sweeping transcendence that gave testament to Sufjan's central thesis of mourning: that in spite of death, we must go on living in fullness and joy. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Documenting the South Carolina stop of the Carrie & amp; Lowell tour, this audiovisual album takes a record that thrived on simplicity and adorns it with glowsticks, but each track retains a subtle beauty. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Pitchfork & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Ingenious arrangements illuminate the songs. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Independent & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Translucent Blue 12 & quot; Vinyl Single & lt;br & gt; • 2 live tracks from November 9, 2015 performance at North Charleston Performing Arts Center & lt;br & gt; • Limited time digital download of full Carrie & amp; Lowell live album (all 16 tracks recorded at North Charleston Performing Arts Center) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side A: & lt;/b & gt;Blue Bucket Of Gold - Live & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side B: & lt;/b & gt; Hotline Bling - Live (feat. Sufjan Stevens The Greatest Gift LP (Translucent Yellow Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Translucent Yellow Vinyl LP! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Greatest Gift is a mixtape of outtakes, remixes and demos from Sufjan's 2015 album Carrie & amp; Lowell, available on translucent yellow vinyl. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This collection serves as a companion piece to the Carrie & amp; Lowell Live album released earlier this year (and as an expansion to the original album). In the same way the live show featured re-interpretations of the songs from Carrie & amp; Lowell, the mixtape unveils new remixes by several longstanding collaborators including Roberto C. Lange (aka Helado Negro), Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), and James McAlister (aka 900X). The album also features Sufjan’s own remix of & quot;Drawn to the Blood. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The mixtape includes a few alternate and/or demo versions of songs from the original album, and features four previously unreleased new songs, & quot;official & quot; outtakes from Carrie & amp; Lowell (they were recorded at the same time as the album). These include & quot;Wallowa Lake Monster, & quot; & quot;The Hidden River of My Life, & quot; & quot;City of Roses, & quot; and & quot;The Greatest Gift. & quot; This new material, in its investigation of love, life, death, God, and the beautiful state of Oregon, serves as a contemplative companion to the original album. Sufjan Stevens & Lowell Brams Aporia LP (Yellow Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Limited First-Run Yellow Vinyl LP! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;Aporia is a New Age album from Sufjan Stevens and his stepfather and record label co-owner, Lowell Brams. In the spirit of the New Age composers who sanded off the edges of their synths' sawtooth waves, Aporia approximates a rich soundtrack from an imagined sci-fi epic brimming with moody, hooky, gauzy synthesizer soundscapes. The album may suggest the progeny of a John Carpenter, Wendy Carlos and Mike Oldfield marriage, but it stands apart from these touchstones and generates a meditative universe all its own. This is no mere curio in the Sufjan Stevens catalog - but a fully realized collaborative musical piece. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;quote source & quot; & gt; Sufjan Stevens is one of the most prolific and aboslutely gifted American songwriters of the 21st century. & lt;footer & gt; -NPR & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;quote source & quot; & gt; Stevens remains at the height of his powers - capable of work as individual, compassionate and powerful as any American composer working today. & lt;footer & gt; -The Washington Post & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/L9lvTNwdb3U & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ilaif-4Q3zw & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Limited First-Run Yellow Vinyl LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;21 new ambient electronic tracks from Sufjan Stevens and stepfather Lowell Brams & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side A: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Ousia & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;What It Takes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Disinheritance & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Agathon & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Determined Outcome & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Misology & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Afterworld Alliance & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Palinodes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Backhanded Cloud & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Glorious You & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side B: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol start = & quot;11 & quot; & gt; & lt;li & gt;For Raymond Scott & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Matronymic & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;The Red Desert & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Conciliation & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Ataraxia & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;The Unlimited & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;The Runaround & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Climb That Mountain & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Captain Praxis & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Eudaimonia & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;The Lydian Ring & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

Sufjan Stevens Convocations 5LP Box Set (Color Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Sufjan Stevens' New Instrumental Album Presented In A 5LP Box Set! & lt;br & gt; Pressed On Multi-Colored Vinyl! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;Convocations, the new instrumental album from Sufjan Stevens, moves like a two-and-a-half-hour electronic/ambient mass for our present age of anxiety and dread; its 49 tracks work through the stages of grief and gladness with emotional mood music that is dreamy, dissonant, vertiginous, rhythmic, repetitive, urgent, and calm - that is, all the things we undergo when we inevitably live through isolation, uncertainty, and loss. Its five sonic cycles (Meditations, Lamentations, Revelations, Celebrations, and Incantations) replicate different stages of mourning, healing and catharsis, working both to soothe our unease while savoring a renewed sense of awe and wonder for being alive in these unprecedented times. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Stevens initiated Convocations in response to (and as an homage to) the life and death of his father, who died in September last year, two days following the release of The Ascension. It is, then, ultimately an album about death, and an album that reflects a year in which we have all lost so much. That said, this is not a personal record, but a universal one. Convocations is built on a shared experience that seeks to be honest about how complicated grief can be in these difficult times - the pain and separation, the anxiety, the unknown, the absolute joy of memory. This is also an album made in lockdown, when we were all cloistered in whatever space we had. Convocations arrives just as we begin to emerge from a year whose losses we will calculate for a lifetime. It is, then, right on time, as we begin to process our grief and try to carry on with it. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;5LP Box Set & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Multi-Colored Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Five records of instrumental electronic music & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;All music performed, recorded, mixed & amp; produced by Sufjan Stevens & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Slipcase & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Layout & amp; design by Sufjan Stevens & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP1 - Meditations & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation I & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mediation II & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation III & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mediation IV & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation V & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation VI & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation VII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation VIII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation IX & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meditation X & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP2 - Lamentations & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation I & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation II & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation III & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation IV & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation V & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation VI & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation VII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation VIII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation IX & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lamentation X & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP3 - Revelations & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation I & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation II & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation III & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation IV & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation V & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation VI & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation VII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation VIII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation IX & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Revelation X & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP4 - Celebrations & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration I & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration II & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration III & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration IV & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration V & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration VI & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration VII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration VIII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration IX & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Celebration X & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP5 - Incantations & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation I & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantion II & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation III & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation IV & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation V & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation VI & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation VII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation VIII & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Incantation IX & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

Sufjan Stevens & Angelo De Augustine A Beginner's Mind LP (Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Collaborative Debut On Vinyl LP! & lt;br & gt; Featuring Songs (Loosely) Based On (Mostly) Popular Films! & lt;br & gt; Folksy, Sweet, Sincere & amp; Harmonically Effervescent! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt;It's been said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture (impossible and absurd). But what about singing about movies? & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine have paired up for a collaborative project that does just that. A Beginner's Mind is their debut album that contains 14 songs (loosely) based on (mostly) popular films. The source material is highbrow, lowbrow, and everything in between. A cornerstone of zombie horror (Night of the Living Dead), a touchstone psychological thriller (Silence of the Lambs), a high-octane action flick (Point Break), and a Bette Davis classic (All About Eve) are inspiration for songs that seek to investigate the meaning of life, the meaning of death, and everything in between. The movies are only catalysts; the songs take liberty with their source material, allowing for bold tangents, often running wild with existential inquiry. John Carpenter's The Thing inspires a song that explores the disease of social paranoia, while Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire is the building blocks of a song about human suffering and isolation. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;The music is folksy, sweet, sincere and harmonically effervescent - Simon & amp; Garfunkel with New Age flourishes. There's an S & amp;M dirge inspired by Hellraiser III, a peppy campfire song based on the direct-to-video cheerleader rom-com Bring It On Again, and a fem-power lo-fi folk anthem based on Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It. This album runs the gamut and has fun with it, even while its songwriters remain fully rooted in the melancholy folk idioms they are known for. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Daniel Anum Jasper, a pioneer of Ghanian movie poster painting, was commissioned to paint a series of new works for A Beginner's Mind. His paintings are a graphic simulacrum for the same sense of wonder, wordplay, and intrigue that shape A Beginner's Mind. By transforming old films into vital new songs, Stevens and de Augustine ask us to consider ourselves from a previously unconsidered vantage point - a new way of seeing and hearing - an exercise that's as necessary and relevant now as it's ever been. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.allmusic.com & quot; & gt; A Beginner's Mind is intelligent and well-crafted, and will appeal to fans of either Stevens' or De Augustine's recent work... & lt;footer & gt; -Mark Deming, AllMusic.com & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/ltH3rI-G4n8 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;a name= & quot;SS & quot; & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/N9ymTg1V40A & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;Vinyl LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Artwork by Daniel Anum Jasper & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Reach Out & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lady Macbeth In Chains & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Back To Oz & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;The Pillar Of Souls & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;You Give Death A Bad Name & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Beginner's Mind & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Olympus & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Murder And Crime & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;(This Is) The Thing & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;It's Your Own Body And Mind & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lost In The World & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Fictional California & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Cimmerian Shade & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lacrimae & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

Sufjan Stevens Sufjan Stevens Presents Songs For Christmas Singalong Volumes I-V 12" Vinyl 5EP Box Set
& lt;img src= & quot;/content/images/christmasbells.gif & quot; align= & quot;right & quot; hspace= & quot;10 & quot; & quot; & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Sufjan Stevens' Annual Christmas EPs Released On 12 & quot; Vinyl 5EP Box Set! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Forget the 50 States. Christmas is a bigger concept. As some of you may or may not know as a holiday tradition, Sufjan embarked on an extraordinary experiment to record an annual Christmas EP. It started in 2001, the year of Epiphanies, and continued onward (skipping only 2004), culminating into an odd and idiosyncratic catalog of music that has only existed in the Asthmatic Kitty archives (and on a number of file sharing sites). The recording process took place every December, for one week, usually at home, provoking collaborations with friends, roommates, and musical peers. Armed with a ReaderÂ’s Digest Christmas Songbook (and a mug of hot cider) Sufjan & amp; friends concocted a musical fruit cake year after year, implementing every musical instrument they could find lying around the house: banjo, oboe, Casiotone, wood flute, a buzzy guitar, hand claps, sleigh bells, Hammond organ, and some tree tinsel. Did we mention sleigh bells? It doesnÂ’t take much to capture that Creepy Christmas Feeling, does it? Recorded, mixed and mastered at home, the EPs themselves were often assembled in the kitchen, stapled together, and sent out with stickers and stamps to loved ones across the globe, year after year. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recording traditional favorites alongside unique originals, Sufjan has constructed an odd, impressive, and compelling collection of Christmas tunes. He was & quot;determined to present the EPs in their original form; flaws, blemishes, mistakes and all. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The box set is chock full of surprises! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Five 12 & quot; Vinyl EPs & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Slipcase with red and green foil text & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; First time on vinyl & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; All original package design with illustrations by Sufjan Stevens, Stephen Halker and a family portrait painting by Jacques Bredy & lt;br & gt; & amp;bull; Lyrics, chord charts and full recording credits for all the songs & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Disc 1 & lt;br & gt; Noel (2001) Vol. I & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
