& lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;Featured in Michael Fremer's Heavy Rotation in the June 2010 Issue of Stereophile! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; It may be generalizing. Hopefully it isn't offensive. But let's face it: Dan Dyer has one hell of a soulful voice for a white guy. It's a soulful voice for anybody. But for a white guy?! Close your eyes and you're likely to picture something more along the lines of Al Green or Stevie Wonder or Sly Stone than some east Texan around 40 years old. But this is & lt;br & gt; Dan Dyer's gift is a voice oozing soul along with deeply introspective, serious songwriting. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This direct-to-disc release, recorded in the church sanctuary of Blue Heaven Studios, is so fresh and pure... Talk about up to audiophile standards! The immediacy, the dynamics - slam and delicacy alike - are just so startlingly real. There's nothing lost. It's positively lifelike. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Cutting engineer Kevin Gray, using Blue Heaven's Neumann VMS 70 lathe with an Ortofon cutter head and amplifiers, and recording engineer Katsu Naito have made available for your playback the closest thing possible to a live, in-person performance. With direct-to-disc recording, the signal from the microphone is transmitted directly to the cutter head, which then cuts the grooves into a raw lacquer. There's no middleman. No tape. No tape hiss. No distortion or other artifacts inherent in any other type of recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; And the music? It's killer! These sessions were recorded the weekend of the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads in October 2009. This is disc two from these sessions by Dan Dyer. The companion disc & lt;a href= & quot;/prodinfo.asp?number=APLPD2D012 & quot; & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#0000FF & quot; & gt;APLPD2D012 & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/a & gt; is also available. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Companion disc to & lt;a href= & quot;/prodinfo.asp?number=APLPD2D012 & quot; & gt; & lt;font color= & quot;#0000FF & quot; & gt;APLPD2D012 & lt;/font & gt; & lt;/a & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. This guy has original after original after original — all killer songs. Four volumes (APLPD2D012, APLPD2D013, APLPD2D014, APLPD2D015) feels more like scratching the surface than scraping the bottom of the barrel. Dyer is most definitely prolific. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; And talented...unbelievably talented. His voice conjures thoughts of Al Green, Stevie Wonder or Sly Stone. His songwriting is deeply introspective and serious. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Dyer adds guitar and keyboards to his singing and is joined on these recordings by drums and backing vocals (Michael Hale) along with bass alternating with cello (Mark Williams). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Previous to his APO direct-to-disc recordings, Dyer’s released records for Fat Caddy Records and for a Lenny Kravitz-run Warner Bros. imprint called Roxie Records. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2010 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Engineered by Katsu Naito & lt;br & gt; • Companion disc to APLPD2D012, APLPD2D013, & amp; APLPD2D014 & amp;nbsp; & amp;nbsp; & amp;nbsp; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Sam Cooke could sing anything and make it work. But when you're talking about his strength as a singer, range is not relevant. It was his power to deliver — it was about his phrasing, the totality of his singing, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Van Morrison, for Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Singers Of All Time, ranking Cooke at No. 4 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This Best Of Sam Cooke album was the beacon that kept Cooke's most popular songs in the public eye. Between 1957 and his death seven years later, Cooke recorded an average of one Top Ten single every four months! And now on this single LP, you can relive the timeless best known and best-loved Sam Cooke classics. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;You Send Me & quot;, & quot;Only Sixteen & quot;, & quot;Wonderful World & quot;, & quot;Chain Gang & quot;, & quot;Cupid & quot;, & quot;Having a Party & quot; And more! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For a couple of generations this was the first - and often only - Sam Cooke album they owned. Although there are more ambitious collections that show Cooke's remarkable range and diversity, this is still the best starting place. These are Sam Cooke's biggest commercial hits. This is the message in a bottle that brought his gifts to millions of people. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; What is it that makes Cooke's music so irresistible? Well, first the voice, of course. So good, in fact, was Cooke as a vocalist that Atlantic Records vice president Jerry Wexler said matter-of-factly, & lt;b & gt; & quot;Sam Cooke was the best singer who ever lived, no contest. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; But beyond just his voice, it's the phrasing that makes these songs so timeless and memorable. Cooke himself explained it this way: & quot;You just talk the story. That's how you get people to come to you - because it's not like a song, it's like two people rapping, only with a melody attached. But then when you come to the hook ('That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang'), then you're free, everybody's gonna sing that part, you want to get everybody to sing along. & quot; And they're still singing along. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; So we all know the songs. We all know they're great. But nobody's known — not unless you were there when it was recorded — just how incredible these recordings actually sound. Now, cut at 45 RPM with every detail tended to and no expense spared, we've got The Best of The Best of Sam Cooke. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Jimmie Lee Robinson All My Life 200g 45rpm 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;font color= & quot;#FF0000 & quot; & gt; & lt;b & gt;200g 45rpm Vinyl Double LP Pressed at Quality Record Pressings! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; If you tire easily of the overdone, overproduced contemporary blues-the garbage that sounds like plastic instruments being played in a tin box-and if you've ever wondered why that stuff is even filed under blues, than you're like Jimmie Lee Robinson. To Jimmie Lee, the blues are more than just fast notes and wild guitar solos. They are about feelings very personal and deep. They punch at emotions. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; With All My Life, his second APO Records release, Jimmie Lee is aiming for goose bumps and tears. And if you've got appreciation for acoustic, front porch blues, you'll have a tough time escaping his spell. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; No doubt Jimmie Lee Robinson offers a delightful taste of traditional blues. His work through the years with such stalwarts as Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, Freddie King, Elmore James and Jimmy Reed have made their impressions on the man called The Lonely Traveler just as he has been credited with inspiring them. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; On All My Life you'll hear standby classics like a haunting, slowed-down version of Muddy Waters' Forty Days and Forty Nights with eerie harmonica accompaniment by Madison Slim. And Jimmie Lee even covers a non-blues favorite with What a Wonderful World. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; All My Life is also packed with Jimmie Lee originals like the title track, which was once covered by John Mayall, where Jimmie Lee pleads with the woman of his dreams to return all the respect and love he's paid to her. That track is also a perfect showcase for the classic Jimmie Lee growling vocals and the spurs jangling from his boots as the only percussion. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Unlike his first APO release, Remember Me, an almost entirely-solo effort, Jimmie Lee is joined on most of the All My Life tracks by APO artist and noted-guitarist Jimmy D. Lane and journeyman harp player Madison Slim, whose knack for acoustic blues is highlighted on this release. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. The session was recorded the weekend of the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads in October 2009. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Singer Howard Tate cracked the R & amp;B Top 20 three times in the late 1960s, left music and endured hardship and anonymity for nearly 30 years and beginning in the early 2000s returned to his rightful place as one of America's most revered soul performers. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In the mid-'60s, Garnet Mimms urged producer Jerry Ragovoy to check out Tate, and from 1966 to 1969 Tate and Ragovoy recorded about 10 singles, the first for the Utopia label, the rest for Verve. & quot;Ain't Nobody Home & quot; (1966), & quot;Look At Granny Run Run & quot; (1966) and & quot;Stop & quot; (1967), all written or co-written by Ragovoy, each charted R & amp;B Top 20. But to rock audiences, Tate was best known as the original performer of & quot;Get It While You Can, & quot; which became one of Janis Joplin's signature tunes. Tate's debut album, Get It While You Can, was released in 1966 to tremendous acclaim. Rolling Stone called the album & quot;a spectacular showcase of suave, muscular good-powered singing, heavily influenced by Sam Cooke, with a joyous, shrieking falsetto that became Tate's trademark. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Music luminaries have recognized and celebrated Tate's trademark voice throughout the years, with Elvis Costello calling him & quot;the missing link between Jackie Wilson and Al Green. & quot; Among the well-known musicians that have covered songs originally recorded by Tate are Joplin ( & quot;Get It While You Can & quot;), Jimi Hendrix ( & quot;Stop & quot;), Hugh Masekela ( & quot;Stop & quot;), B.B. King ( & quot;Ain't Nobody Home & quot;), Ry Cooder ( & quot;Look At Granny Run Run & quot;) and Grand Funk Railroad ( & quot;Look At Granny Run Run & quot;). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Chad Kassem’s efforts have resulted in a delicious live session... Tate reaches down to the soles of his shoes to deliver exquisite takes of two trademark songs from his classic Verve LP, ‘Look At Granny Run Run’ and ‘Ain’t Nobody Home’, plus four others. The backing band is note-perfect for the session, the sound bordering on the cavernous. Best of all, over 40 years after his debut, the voice is intact. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, Sound Quality Rating: 95% & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Don't get him started telling you about the things he's invented or done to draw a crowd. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Born in 1939 in Rockfield, South Carolina, Sam learned to play the organ as a youngster. He concentrated on boogie-woogie and gospel music before turning to blues while playing in Miami, Florida. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; His music has appeared on several labels including Holiday Inn, Atlantic, Styletone and his own Board label. By the late 1980s he was playing Bourbon Street clubs and remains based in New Orleans today. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Also captured on this Direct-to-Disc, two other great performers: Milton 'Alabama Slim' Frazier and Robert Lee Coleman. Frazier, nearly 7 feet tall, takes his guitar seriously and pairs it with deep, emotional vocals. He's lived in New Orleans for decades. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Robert Lee Coleman, the funky man in the mix, is as thin as a rail and uses his guitar to will you to move. His attacking play looks as if he's charged with electricity. Hailing from Macon, Georgia, Robert Lee did a long stint with Percy Sledge in the 1960s and worked with James Brown and the J.B.'s in the early 1970s. He's been a local secret around Georgia forever. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2012 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200 Gram Audiophile Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Working with the Royal Ballet Orchestra in Covent Garden under Fistoulari, engineer Ken Cross and producer Michael Williamson created another Decca/RCA masterpiece. It's hard to know where to begin with a record this good. The top — the high end — of this recording is simply as well recorded as any RCA there is. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Undeniable transparency, snap, detail and body on cymbals, bells and woodblocks. The same virtues, along with the added virtue of harmonic richness extends into the midrange. Strings are sweet, diaphanous, transparent and a bit bright, without being irritating. Brass and woodwinds — which in this piece carry much of the thematic load — are particularly well reproduced. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded in Walthamstow Assembly Hall & lt;br & gt; Producer: Michael Williamson & lt;br & gt; Engineer: Ken Cross & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl 33 1/3rpm & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Willem Makee from the original master tapes & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent Garden & lt;br & gt; Anatole Fistoulari, conductor & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Sir William Walton (1902-1983) & lt;br & gt; Side 1: Facade & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Little Hatch Rock With Me Baby 180g 45rpm 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Rock With Me Baby is the comforting addition to this awesome, down-home blues artist's sparsely-documented career. A fire that cannot be faked or accurately imitated fuels each note and puts this title in perfect fit with APO Records' mission of finding & quot;the real blues. & quot; At 80 years young, Hatch is a little-known legend; little-known, that is, outside of Kansas City, where his birthday was long ago declared & quot;Little Hatch Day & quot; and where harp up-and-comers actively pay homage to the master. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Little Hatch, born Provine Hatch, Jr. in 1922 in Sledge, Mississippi, began blowing the harp obsessively at 8 years old and came under the direct spell of Sonny Boy Williamson II and Howlin' Wolf when his family moved to Helena, Arkansas in 1935. Sonny Boy became Hatch's hero, and from there, another sure-fire bluesman was born. Rock With Me Baby oozes with blues purity and recalls the gritty roots of a time before blues needed polish to shine. If Hatch's harp is technically imperfect, his voice is soulfully unmatched. Fans of the real thing will drool, and rockers may at least understand blues heritage through this release. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Jimmy D. Lane and Ron Edwards accompany Hatch on guitars. The trio lays down 13 tracks of exquisite traditional blues that's a treat to both ears and soul. Lane is of course son of blues legend Jimmy Rogers, and he's a fast-rising star in his own right with two great releases on the APO label and a third soon to come. Edwards has been playing sweet-sounding slide guitar for more than 30 years, having been tutored by such slide luminaries as Houston Stackhouse and J.B. Hutto. His regular gig for 15 years now has been as accompanist to St. Louis bluesman and APO recording artist Henry Townsend. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Rock With Me Baby, Hatch's second APO release, is surely his best album to date. Let¹s hope it pulls a deserving bluesman from relative anonymity. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: Little Hatch, vocals and harmonica; Jimmy D. Lane, acoustic and Dobro guitars; Ron Edwards, slide guitar. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Rock With Me Baby & lt;br & gt; 2. Wild Child Butler Sho' 'Nuff 180g 45rpm 2LP (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Standing on the stage like a tall barrel of beer, the stout and sturdy Wild Child Butler tapped his right foot, swung his hips and authoritatively snapped his fingers. Some musicians keep time subtly. Wild Child does it more obviously than a metronome. With everything, in fact, Wild Child shows his true colors without prompt. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; That same cold, October night, he alternated between blowing a furious blues harp and singing with such emotion that his face would give the meaning of each song to even the deaf. And he was wearing a green suit and looking good, without doubt - a sign of how unique this man is. As traditional as the blues on this album are, there’s no mistaking a Wild Child tune. They can’t be played this way by anyone else - not so boisterous, not so Wild Child. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Perhaps it’s the syncopation. The way Wild Child punches certain syllables with either his harp or voice. His blues sometimes sound angry and raw, other times soft and country-polished. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;They’ve always called mine the swamp sound, & quot; Wild Child said. & quot;It’s not too fast and not too slow. They calls it snapping blues. Everything is snappy. I was told from Willie Dixon that I had a way-out strange voice. He said he could hear it between Howlin’ Wolf and Lightnin’ Hopkins. He said ain’t nothing been around like that. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Here’s a man whose been heavily praised by Dixon, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Jimmy Rogers just to name a few; a man who those blues legends were proud to accompany. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; He’s joined by drummer Sam Lay, one of Wild Child’s old running mates, and guitarist Jimmy D. Lane, the son of Rogers, one of Wild Child’s closest friends. Bob Stroger, also from the old school, plays bass, and APO heavyweight Jimmie Lee Robinson sits in on acoustic guitar on & quot;You Had Quit Me. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Wild Child said the session brought back memories of his tours with Rogers and Lay. Just substitute Jimmy's. & quot;It’s Little Jimmy and Big Jimmy, & quot; Wild Child said of Rogers and his son Lane. & quot;His father was Big Jimmy. The son is a big man, but I call him Little Jimmy. That boy kind of came up under me. I think he’s scared I’m gonna give him a spanking if he do wrong. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This release offers a fine mix of Wild Child’s down-home, acoustic sound, his slow, muscular blues and his up-tempo shuffle or & quot;snapping blues. & quot; As Wild Child himself said, & quot;If you can’t dig these blues, you got a hole in your soul. & quot;Talkin’ bout sho’ ‘nuff. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Selections: Side One: Open Up Baby, You Had To Quit Me; Side Two: I Got To Go (Sweet Daddy-O), Can You Use A Man Like Me?; Side Three: Moaning Morning, Slippin' In, Funky Things; Side Four: It's All Over, I Changed.

The single reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1974 while the album reached #12 on the Billboard Album charts. Selections also include & quot;Don't Ask Me No Questions & quot; and & quot;The Battle of Curtis Loew & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote the book on Southern rock with their first album, so it only made sense that they followed it for their second album, aptly titled Second Helping. Sticking with producer Al Kooper, the group turned out a record that replicated all the strengths of the original, but was a little tighter and a little more professional. But it also revealed that the band, under the direction of songwriter Ronnie VanZant, was developing a truly original voice. Of course, the band had already developed their own musical voice, but it was enhanced considerably by VanZant's writing, which was at turns plainly poetic, surprisingly clever, and always revealing. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Though Second Helping isn't as hard a rock record as Pronounced, it's the songs that make the record. & quot;Sweet Home Alabama & quot; became ubiquitous, yet it's rivaled by such terrific songs as the snide, punkish & quot;Workin' for MCA, & quot; the Southern groove & quot;Don't Ask Me No Questions, & quot; the affecting & quot;The Ballad of Curtis Loew, & quot; and & quot;The Needle and the Spoon, & quot; a drug tale as affecting as their rival Neil Young's & quot;Needle and the Damage Done, & quot; but much harder rocking. This is the part of Skynyrd that most people forget -- they were a great band, but they were indelible because that was married to great writing. And nowhere was that more evident than on Second Helping. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Van Zant sang this pissed-off answer to Neil Young's 'Southern Man,' and even Young loved it. 'I'd rather play 'Sweet Home Alabama' than 'Southern Man' anytime,' Young said. The admiration was mutual; Van Zant wore a Young T-shirt on the cover of Skynyrd's final album, Street Survivors, and according to legend, he is buried in the shirt. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Rolling Stone & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Impressed by the 16-year-old musician’s talent, House eventually took Mooney under his wing. Mooney pays tribute to his legendary mentor with two House covers for this gritty, drenched-with-emotion recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Mooney’s style incorporates both savage energy and sensitivity, all in the bag of traditional blues. He’s a dynamic guitarist with a special talent for slide playing, and he’s a commanding vocalist. His discography, dating back to 1979’s Comin’ Your Way for Blind Pig, includes more than 12 titles on eight difference labels. But hearing him on direct-to-disc LP, recorded totally stripped down and natural, live in a church sanctuary, is truly the closest thing to hearing him in person. In fact, with the right hi-fi, it’s utterly spooky how in-person this recording sounds. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2010 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Engineered by Katsu Naito & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. It encompasses everything that's ever knocked me out and rolled it all into one. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Eric Clapton & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; To meet the standards of Analogue Productions, their Beach Boys album reissues had a mission to achieve: Present the band's music the way that Brian Wilson - famed co-founder, songwriter and arranger - intended. Mono mixes created under Wilson’s supervision were how the surf rockin’ California crew rose to fame! And they’ve got ‘em! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For the early part of the Beach Boys' career, all of their singles were mixed and mastered and released only in the mono format - they didn't release a single in stereo until 1968. In those days, hits were made on AM radio in mono. And the mono of those times worked well for Wilson, who suffers from partial deafness. In fact, for their first 13 albums, Wilson originally turned in all the final mixed Beach Boy albums to Capitol Records only in mono. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The mono mixes were where Wilson paid intense attention, and the dedication paid off! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Analogue Productions has taken 10 of the most classic, best-sounding Beach Boy titles ever and restored them to their mono glory! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; But there’s no disputing that the close harmonies and one-of-a-kind rhythms of hits like & quot;Surfer Girl & quot;, & quot;In My Room & quot;, & quot;Little Deuce Coupe & quot; and more lend themselves naturally to stereo. So Analogue Productions has your 2-channel needs covered with prime stereo mix versions as well. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in & quot;old school & quot; Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Pet Sounds is famous for its use of multiple layers of unorthodox instrumentation as well as other cutting edge audio techniques for its time. It's considered the best Beach Boys album, and one of the best of the 1960s. The group here reached a whole new level in terms of both composition and production, layering tracks upon tracks of vocals and instruments to create a richly symphonic sound. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Conventional keyboards and guitars were combined with exotic touches of orchestrated strings, bicycle bells, buzzing organs, harpsichords, flutes, Theremin, Hawaiian-sounding string instruments, Coca-Cola cans, barking dogs, and more. It wouldn't have been a classic without great songs, and this has some of the group's most stunning melodies, as well as lyrical themes which evoke both the intensity of newly born love affairs and the disappointment of failed romance (add in some general statements about loss of innocence and modern-day confusion as well). The spiritual quality of the material is enhanced by some of the most gorgeous upper-register male vocals (especially by Brian and Carl Wilson) ever heard on a rock record. & quot;Wouldn't It Be Nice, & quot; & quot;God Only Knows, & quot; & quot;Caroline No, & quot; and & quot;Sloop John B & quot; (the last of which wasn't originally intended to go on the album) are the well-known hits, but equally worthy are such cuts as & quot;You Still Believe in Me, & quot; & quot;Don't Talk, & quot; & quot;I Know There's an Answer, & quot; and & quot;I Just Wasn't Made for These Times. & quot; It's often said that this is more of a Brian Wilson album than a Beach Boys recording (session musicians played most of the parts), but it should be noted that the harmonies are pure Beach Boys (and some of their best) & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; VH-1 named Pet Sounds as the No. 3 album in the Top 100 Albums in Rock 'n' Roll History, as judged in a poll of musicians, executives and journalists. It's been ranked No. 1 in several music magazines' lists of the greatest albums of all time, including NME, The Times and Mojo Magazine. It was ranked No. 2 in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/3FIyYBRTTj0?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/StEmxHoCHnU?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • 33 1/3rpm mono mixes created under Brian Wilson's supervision & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, most from the original master tapes or best sources available & lt;br & gt; • Lacquer plating by Gary Salstrom & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Mono & lt;br & gt; • & quot;Old school & quot; Stoughton tip-on jackets & lt;br & gt; • Audio Production - Mark Linett & lt;br & gt; • For Brother Records - Elliott Lott & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Matt “Guitar” Murphy and his brother Floyd were Beard’s childhood buddies and the ones who initially got him started on guitar. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Beard moved to Rochester, New York in the mid-1950s and from time to time would visit one of his brothers in Chicago. He became enamored with the blues being played there and eventually sat in, both with John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In Rochester, he formed the Soul Brothers Six, playing bass and singing. He wouldn’t perform in public on guitar until 1965. For most of the 1960s on through the '80s, Beard worked as an electrician by day and would occasionally play out at night and on weekends. He long ago gained a reputation as one of the best local players around Rochester and has sporadically been counted as one of the best nationally. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In the '90s, Beard began recording with the Audioquest label, and those two releases have won major acclaim within the blues and audiophile communities. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2010 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Engineered by Katsu Naito & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Analogue Productions presents the ultimate pressings of 14 essential Beach Boys albums! Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in & quot;old school & quot; Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; These stereo mixes were created between 2005 and 2012 using the first generation basic tracking session multitracks, synced with the overdubs that were later added on second and third generation masters, to create the first true stereo mixes! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The stereo editions of Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Shut Down Vol. 2, All Summer Long, Beach Boys Christmas Album and Beach Boys Concert were all mixed in stereo by their own preferred engineer, Chuck Britz, ostensibly under the group's supervision. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Brian may or may not have been present for those mixing sessions — evidence suggests that he trusted Chuck's skills enough to let him prepare those mixes on his own — but the group held onto their multitrack tapes and delivered stereo masters to Capitol, rather than allowing Capitol to prepare their own stereo versions. Later, when Brian was only delivering mono masters, Capitol would prepare the Duophonic pseudo stereo editions for the stereo market, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; says Alan Boyd, producer and Beach Boys' archivist. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; All of the newer stereo mixes on these remastered albums (The Beach Boys Today!, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!), The Beach Boys' Party, Pet Sounds and Smiley Smile) were all done by Mark Linett on behalf of the Beach Boys. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The Beach Boys' Party! is an album of mostly cover songs, featuring acoustic instruments, by the Beach Boys that was recorded for and marketed during the lucrative Christmas season. The original album release included a sheet of photographs of the band 'appearing' to be at the party at hand. It was the Beach Boys' tenth album release, and their third in 1965. Although it was recorded in a music studio, it is presented as an impromptu live recording of a party. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Capitol Records, which had already released ten Beach Boys albums in three years, was bugging the group for product that it could release in time for the 1965 Christmas season. To buy time while Brian Wilson began conceiving the Pet Sounds masterpiece, the group issued a set of covers, mostly of the '50s rock and R & amp;B they had listened to as schoolboys. Packaged as if it had been recorded at an actual party, it was in fact recorded in the studio, with friends and romantic partners adding sounds and vocals to create an informal atmosphere. With the exception of a bass guitar, all the instruments were acoustic; the acoustic guitar-and-bongo arrangements, in fact, give this a hootenanny campfire feel. In recent years, this album has gone up a few notches in critical esteem, praised for its loose, casual feel and insight into the group's influences...It does have the massive hit 'Barbara Ann,' which actually features Dean Torrence (of Jan & amp; Dean) on much of the lead vocals; other highlights include 'Mountain of Love,' an unexpected version of 'The Times They Are a-Changin',' and three Beatles covers. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Richie Unterberger, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/3FIyYBRTTj0?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/StEmxHoCHnU?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, most from the original master tapes or best sources available & lt;br & gt; • Lacquer plating by Gary Salstrom & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Stereo & lt;br & gt; • Stereo mixes produced by Mark Linett and Alan Boyd / Mixed by Mark Linett & lt;br & gt; • & quot;Old school & quot; Stoughton tip-on jackets & lt;br & gt; • Audio Production - Mark Linett & lt;br & gt; • For Brother Records - Elliott Lott & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Many of the top musicians from the Sacred Steel gospel tradition arrived in town for the big gig, and here we have some of the finest: Calvin Cooke and Aubrey Ghent, backed by the Campbell Brothers. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Calvin is a surprising powerhouse with a cherubic smile. You'd never guess how much music he can make with his three-legged lap steel, and his unique tuning helps identify his sound immediately, among the dozens of steel players who began in the House of God church. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Aubrey takes over on the flip side. His hands fly and he literally makes his lap steel speak. Aubrey's sweet sound and serious expression mask his subtly building tempo and rising sound. He's a minister with a lineage that virtually demands he be a top notch player. His uncle and father were slide kings and thankfully, he has a son who is rumored to be the next generation superstar. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2012 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Winner of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award! Blues Hall of Famer! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Perkins began his blues existence primarily as a guitarist, but a mid-40's encounter with an outraged knife-toting chorus girl at a nightspot left him with severed tendons in his left arm. That dashed his guitar aspirations, but Joe Willie Perkins came back strong from the injury, concentrating solely on piano. He traveled to Helena with Robert Nighthawk in 1943, playing with the elegant slide guitarist on his radio program. Perkins soon switched over to rival Sonny Boy Williamson's beloved King Biscuit Time radio show and remained for an extended period. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Perkins accompanied Nighthawk on a 1950 session for the Chess brothers that produced Jackson Town Gal, but Chicago couldn't hold him at the time. He hit the road, pausing at Sam Phillips's studios in Memphis long enough for Perkins to wax his first version of Pinetop's Boogie Woogie in 1953, then headed back to the windy city in 1969 when Otis Spann split from Muddy Waters. That is when the stage was set for Pinetop Perkins's reemergence. It was only then that his rolling mastery of the ivories began to assume outsized proportions. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; After joining Muddy Waters, Pinetop made up for precious lost time in the studio. Discs for Antone's, Omega (Portrait of a Delta Bluesman, a solo outing that includes fascinating interview segments), Deluge, Earwig, and several other firms ensure that his boogie legacy won't be forgotten in decades to come. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Pinetop at a young 87 years old admits he wasn't the originator of the seminal piano piece Pinetop's Boogie Woogie, but it's a safe bet that more people associate it nowadays with Pinetop than with the man who devised it in the first place, Clarence Pinetop Smith. Pinetop plays 6 songs on a Steinway Concert Grand 9' model D with Jimmy D. Lane on guitar. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Pianist was an ideal sideman for blues heroes , Robert Nighthawk and Sonny Boy Williamson. And he's played everywhere, from Arkansas juke joints and Chicago blues dens to the White House... Perkins picked up the blues purely by ear... Perkins says he realized back then that he had a gift: He could hear in his mind where the music was headed before it actually happened. Before the other musicians heard them, he says, he could hear the chords and imagine the harmonies. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - David Schulman, NPR & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;• 180 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt;Pinetop Perkins, piano & lt;br & gt; Jimmy D. He started piano lessons at age 4 and debuted professionally at 14 in San Rafael, California, playing Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, his Master of Arts Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and his doctorate at 22 from the same institution. Appropriate to this recording, his dissertation was on Beethoven's & quot;Waldstein & quot; piano sonata. In 1983 he was appointed principal pianist with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For this recording a custom-built 9-foot concert grand piano was used. This unique instrument, built by Sheldon Smith in his Berkeley, Calif., workshop — where the recording also took place — has a powerful lower register, which provides a substantial left-hand foundation. The upper registers are somewhat less damped and more ringing than is typical of contemporary pianos. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Schoeps omnidirectional condenser microphones, in a spaced pair, were used in conjunction with vacuum tube record amplifiers to capture a harmonically rich and accurate sound. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;About the performance: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;BEETHOVEN: & lt;/b & gt; Sonata in C Major, Op. 53: When Beethoven left Bonn in 1792, few could have envisioned the titanic creations which would follow his arrival in Vienna. The Count Ferdinand von Waldstein could hardly have foreseen the prophetic nature of his parting words to Beethoven: & quot;Mozart's genius is still mourning the death of his ward. In the inexhaustible Haydn he found a refuge but no employment... Through unremitting industry you shall receive Mozart‘s spirit from the hands of Haydn. & quot; One can only imagine the exhilaration with which the Count must have greeted the sonata whose dedication immortalized his name. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;STRAVINSKY: & lt;/b & gt; Trois Movements de Petrouchka The trilogy of ballets which Stravinsky wrote for the famed Ballet Russe during the years 1910-1914 are a milestone in the history of music. Each in its own way makes a unique contribution to the evolution of music in the twentieth century. & quot;L‘Oiseau de Feu & quot; (1910) demonstrated to the world that Stravinsky was an orchestrator whose innovations would broaden the spectrum of the symphonic expression, even surpassing the achievements of his mentor, Rimsky-Korsakov. The early successes of the & quot;Firebird & quot;, however, were only a prelude to the full realization of Stravinsky‘s artistic vision. Perhaps no moment in the history of music except the & quot;Eroica. & quot; has had the revolutionary impact of & quot;Le Sacre du Printemps & quot; (1914). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Plated and Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Mastered for vinyl by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Hyperion Knight, piano & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) & lt;br & gt; Sonata in C Major, Op. 53 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. This was a straight transfer, bypassing the console altogether. There was no EQ of any kind. A true direct transfer, using a VMS 80, the most sophisticated lathe. You're hearing the master tape! & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;What praises haven't been lauded the immortal singing talent of the late, great Patsy Cline? She died at the height of her career, at age 30, with two other stars of the Grand Ole Opry, and her manager, in a private plane crash near Camden, Tennessee, on the group's return to Nashville from Kansas City. Before that ill-fated flight, though, she left a musical legacy as one of the most influential and successful female vocalists of the 20th Century. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;In the late 1950s and the '60s, country music was essentially a singles medium. This album, first released in 1967, collects a dozen of Patsy's biggest hits - all of them from the country singles market - including & quot;Walkin' After Midnight & quot;, & quot;Sweet Dreams (Of You) & quot;, & quot;Crazy & quot; and & quot;I Fall To Pieces & quot;. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's & quot;countrypolitan & quot; sound. And trust us, on this 200-gram QRP pressing, mastered by Sterling Sound, Cline's seductive vocals have never sounded clearer or richer. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;And the packaging on this release is as deluxe as the audio. Analogue Productions has reissued this classic LP in a new deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket. Inside you'll enjoy a spread of vivid color studio publicity shots of Patsy, courtesy of the Universal Music Archives. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Cline's life and career has been the subject of numerous books, movies, documentaries, articles and stage plays. She has sold millions of albums through the past 50 years, giving her an iconic fan status, similar to that of country artists such as Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. In 1992, the U.S. Postal Service honored her, along with Hank Williams, on a U.S. postage stamp. And in 1995 she was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Cline was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Before Shania Twain found a new (though not necessarily improved) way to combine country and pop in the 1990s, this was the top-selling country album of all time by a female artist. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.analogplanet.com & quot; & gt; Everything from the silent 200g pressing to the 'tip-on' (paper on cardboard) gatefold jacket and the center portfolio of great full color Patsy shots screams HIGH QUALITY. The session was recorded the weekend of the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads in October 2009. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Handy was born and raised as the oldest of seven children in St. Martinville, Louisiana, the parish seat of St. Martin Parish and right on the Bayou Teche. It's a rural town about 15 miles southeast of Lafayette and is generally considered the heart of the Creole and Cajun melting pot that makes this specific sub-region unique to anywhere else in the world. It's from right here that so much of the culture - the food, music, swamp life - that people associate with Louisiana comes. Like with many people from St. Martinville, Handy's heritage is Creole, meaning it's tangled. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Handy's earliest musical inspiration came from his father, who had an old accordion that he toyed with as nothing more than a pastime, and some cousins who were & quot;fooling around & quot; with music. & quot;I saw that, and I wanted to take it and be better, & quot; Handy says. & quot;The first thing I picked up was a guitar. And I took it from there. & quot; His first professional gig came on bass in a cousin's band. From there it was back to guitar and eventually accordion as a bandleader. In between, he played in the bands of Rockin' Dopsie for many years as well as in the very first incarnation of Buckwheat Zydeco just after Buckwheat had left Clifton Chenier. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; While he'd recorded previously as a bandleader, Handy's 2008 APO Records release Zydeco Feeling marked his first widely distributed release in 25 years. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Major Handy is one of Zydeco’s younger, more active performers, born in the heart of the Louisiana region that gave birth to the sound, and a veteran who played with Rockin’ Dopsie. Chad Kassem’s crew has captured the swing and the feel of the genre, while showcasing an instrument that’s key to Zydeco but hardly an audiophile staple: the accordion. This six-track set is as undiluted as it gets, and it just might make you a convert. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, Sound Quality Rating: 87% & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Instead, he rarely takes his craft far from his St. Louis home. Once you hear this direct-to-disc you might be inspired to join a crusade to change that. Leroy Jodie Pierson is that good, and this recording is as close as you can possibly get to having him over for a visit. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; There was magic in the sanctuary of Blue Heaven Studios that October 2004 Saturday afternoon. He discovered his love for music as his grandmother sang around the house. His music is as authentic as his look. Ask him about his song writing and singing and he'll respond that what he does is hokum — a little comedy and a lot of fun. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This exemplary musician shows off his skills here on the grand piano, but he's just as capable on the fiddle, banjo and guitar. He picked up licks from the Reverend Gary Davis, and tunes from Fats Waller, Art Tatum and others, through 78s downloaded from the Internet. He's always searching for new songs — and new ideas. And at just 23 years of age when these tracks were cut, Paxton will have audiences enthralled for a long time to come, we'll wager. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2012 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • Vinyl LP & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. 219 Train & lt;br & gt; 2. Herbie Hancock Head Hunters Analogue Productions 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;180g Vinyl Mastered at Sterling Sound by Ryan Smith! & lt;br & gt; Pressed at Quality Record Pressings! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;/header & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;There are few artists in the music industry who have had more influence on acoustic and electronic jazz and R & amp;B than Herbie Hancock. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;In 1963, Miles Davis invited Hancock to join the Miles Davis Quintet. During his five years with Davis, Herbie recorded many classics with the jazz legend including ESP, Nefertiti and Sorcerer, and later on he made appearances on Davis' groundbreaking In A Silent Way and Bitches Brew. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Hancock's own solo career blossomed on Blue Note, with classic albums including Maiden Voyage, Empyrean Isles and Speak Like A Child. After leaving Davis' fold, Herbie put together a new band called The Headhunters and, in 1973 in San Francisco, recorded Head Hunters. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Head Hunters became not only Hancock's best-selling album, but also the second highest selling jazz album of all time (at last RIAA count). It was in 1973 that he gathered a new band to combine electric music with funk, perhaps best exemplified in the pop music of Sly Stone. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Hancock took over all synthesizer duties, along with Fender Rhodes and clavinet and was backed by bass and drums. The opening bars of & quot;Watermelon Man & quot; with Bill Summers blowing into a beer bottle, along with the band's funky grooves and new electric sounds, captured the crossover fans who had otherwise avoided buying jazz records. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Head Hunters was a pivotal point in Hancock's career, bringing him into the vanguard of jazz fusion. Hancock had pushed avant-garde boundaries on his own albums and with Miles Davis, but he had never devoted himself to the groove as he did on Head Hunters. Drawing heavily from Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield and James Brown, Hancock developed deeply funky, even gritty, rhythms over which he soloed on electric synthesizers, bringing the instrument to the forefront in jazz. It had all of the sensibilities of jazz, particularly in the way it wound off into long improvisations, but its rhythms were firmly planted in funk, soul and R & amp;B, giving it a mass appeal that made it the biggest-selling jazz album of all time (a record which was later broken). & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Jazz purists, of course, decried the experiments at the time, but Head Hunters still sounds fresh and vital four decades after its initial release, and its genre-bending proved vastly influential on not only jazz, but funk, soul and hip-hop. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;180g Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mastered at Sterling Sound by Ryan Smith & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Stoughton Printing old-style deluxe film-lamination tip-on jacket & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Meticulous test pressing evaluation and quality control & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Highest-quality jackets and rice paper inner sleeves & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;musicians & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Musicians & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;table & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Herbie Hancock & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;electric piano, clavinet, synthesizer & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Bennie Maupin & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, saxello, bass clarinet, alto flute & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Paul Jackson & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;electric bass, marimbula & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Bill Summers & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;congas, shekere, balafon, agogo, cabasa, hindewhu, tambourine, log drum, surdo, gankogui & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Harvey Mason & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;drums & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;/table & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side One: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Chameleon & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Watermelon Man & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side Two: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Sly & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Vein Melter & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

The session was recorded the weekend of the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads in October 2009. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; One of the most exciting young blues players to emerge in quite some time, Marquise Knox embodies the soul and essence of a seasoned veteran, with a command of guitar, harmonica, vocals, songwriting and showmanship that belie his 18 years of age. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; From St. Louis, Knox grew up listening to B.B. King, Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Albert King, and, despite the neighborhood influences of his peers, has yet to stray from deep-rooted traditional blues. He's already performed with legends like Henry Townsend, Honeyboy Edwards, Robert Lockwood Jr., Bob Margolin, Willie & quot;Big Eyes & quot; Smith, Louisiana Red, Lazy Lester and Sam Lay. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; And he's an original. The original songs recorded here were written by Knox literally within a day of this recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Knox has performed on the past three Blues Masters at the Crossroads bills. As the youngest performer on lineups chock full of legends, he's still prevailed as one of each year's most obvious favorites. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Now 18 years old, this is an inner-city kid who somehow has decided to become a dead-serious bluesman of the old-school variety. That just doesn't happen anymore. Long Gone features Jimmy Lane with bassist Freddie Crawford (also a verteran member of Jimmy Rogers band and Jimmy Lane's regular group) and legendary drummer Jim Keltner, who has performed and/or recorded with everyone from John Lennon and Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. This truly is a no-expenses-spared project, resulting in the ultimate version of this title. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In what some consider his last great album prior to his tragic passing, Nat & quot;King & quot; Cole approached the dramatic dark side of love in the spirit of Sinatra's saloon songs to timeless, haunting effect with the album Where Did Everyone Go? The distinctive orchestrations of Gordon Jenkins for strings accompany the intimately expressive and supremely musical voice of the incomparable Nat & quot;King & quot; Cole in such classic songs as & quot;Someone To Tell It To, & quot; & quot;I Keep Going Back To Joe's, & quot; & quot;Spring Is Here, & quot; & quot;The End Of A Love Affair & quot; and other reflections of one who had and now has not. Nat & quot;King & quot; Cole and arranger Gordon Jenkins followed their hit albums Love Is The Thing and The Very Thought Of You with this striking shift toward the dramatic. The result again stands among its era's finest, most stylistically defining recordings of popular music and still retains its grand sense of tragedy and beauty. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Using the original first generation 3-track session tapes from Capitol's vaults and all-analogue systems including custom headstacks, 3-track preview heads, console and monitoring chain installed at AcousTech specially for these releases, mastering engineers Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman realize the stunning beauty of these recordings. Two bonus tracks recorded for the album, & quot;A Farewell to Arms & quot; and & quot;Happy New Year, & quot; are included in this double 45-RPM 180-gram album set for their first release in original production quality. Included with this deluxe reissue is a striking six-panel booklet complete with rare photos, a 3,200-word essay by Chris Hall on the album and a 1,200-word essay by Michael Fremer about the remastering process. This truly is a no-expenses-spared project, resulting in the ultimate version of this title and a historic reissue. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Originally released in 1963. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;[P]erfect sound quality, breathtaking arrangements, tasteful material and that voice. Neon Angel is a unique and personal body of work. In it, her lyrics are visual and socially relevant, yet intimate, poetic and immediate. Her music ranges from the ethereal to a plaintive earthiness and at times both expressions are grasped in the same moment. This recording is as classic and as powerful as Joni Mitchell's legendary Blue. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Nobody's Buying & lt;br & gt; 2. Mono Mix Created Under Brian Wilson's Supervision! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the Original Master Tapes or Best Sources Available! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;/font & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; To meet the standards of Analogue Productions, their Beach Boys album reissues had a mission to achieve: Present the band's music the way that Brian Wilson — famed co-founder, songwriter and arranger — intended. Mono mixes created under Wilson’s supervision were how the surf rockin’ California crew rose to fame! And they’ve got ‘em! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; For the early part of the Beach Boys career, all of their singles were mixed and mastered and released only in the mono format — they didn't release a single in stereo until 1968. In those days, hits were made on AM radio in mono. And the mono of those times worked well for Wilson, who suffers from partial deafness. Still, apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Bottom line, the mono mixes were where Brian Wilson paid intense attention, and the dedication paid off! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Analogue Productions has taken 10 of the most classic, best-sounding Beach Boy titles ever and restored them to their mono glory! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; But there’s no disputing that the close harmonies and one-of-a-kind rhythms of hits like “Surfer Girl,” “In My Room,” “Little Deuce Coupe” and more lend themselves naturally to stereo. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; -Richie Unterberger, allmusic.com & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/3FIyYBRTTj0?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;iframe width= & quot;560 & quot; height= & quot;315 & quot; src= & quot;https://www.youtube.com/embed/StEmxHoCHnU?rel=0 & quot; frameborder= & quot;0 & quot; allowfullscreen & gt; & lt;/iframe & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • 33 1/3rpm mono mixes created under Brian Wilson's supervision & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, most from the original master tapes or best sources available & lt;br & gt; • Lacquer plating by Gary Salstrom & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Mono & lt;br & gt; • & quot;Old school & quot; Stoughton tip-on jackets & lt;br & gt; • Audio Production - Mark Linett & lt;br & gt; • For Brother Records - Elliott Lott & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side One: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. Diunna Greenleaf Diunna Greenleaf 180g D2D LP (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;This direct-to-disc release, recorded in the church sanctuary of Blue Heaven Studios, is so fresh and pure... Talk about up to audiophile standards! The immediacy, the dynamics - slam and delicacy alike - are just so startlingly real. There's nothing lost. It's positively lifelike. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Cutting engineer Kevin Gray, using Blue Heaven's Neumann VMS 70 lathe with an Ortofon cutter head and amplifiers, and recording engineer Katsu Naito have made available for your playback the closest thing possible to a live, in-person performance. With direct-to-disc recording, the signal from the microphone is transmitted directly to the cutter head, which then cuts the grooves into a raw lacquer. There's no middleman. No tape. No tape hiss. No distortion or other artifacts inherent in any other type of recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; And the music? It's killer! The session was recorded the weekend of the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads in October 2009. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Diunna Greenleaf and her band Blue Mercy returned to Blue Heaven Studios in 2009 for the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads and to make this D2D recording. She'd closed the 2006 Blues Masters and absolutely floored the Blue Heaven Studios congregation. So powerful and dynamic and soul-stirring was her performance that many concert regulars have commented that Greenleaf remains their favorite act through all the years. To say she was back in 2009 by popular demand is a wild understatement. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Greenleaf, of Houston, Texas, has a background steeped in both blues and gospel. She's been influenced by the likes of Koko Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Rosetta Thorpe, Sam Cooke and Charles Brown, and she includes intricate patches of jazz and soul in her performances. & lt;b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Texan songstress Greenleaf and her band Blue Mercy exhibit precisely the kind of fire and grit that exemplifies the great blues and (southern) soul belters of the 1960s and 1970s. Greenleaf acknowledges gospel inspiration and cites Koko Taylor and Aretha Franklin amongst her muses, so you can expect and do receive earthy, powerful interpretations of five tracks that suffer no sonic restraint. If the modernity of the recording’s crystal clarity jars with what is a genre of elderly vintage, think of this as you would a b/w movie filmed in high-def. This is shake your booty stuff. I think I’m in love. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, Sound Quality Rating: 88% & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. It was recorded with a digital R-Dat and using only a Calrec Ambisonic Microphone. What this means is the record sounds like the band was playing right in front of you with the perfect ambiance. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Yes, this is a digital recording. True to company principles, Analogue Productions in almost all cases reissues recordings only where the analog master tape is available. However, there are rare exceptions that whether digitally recorded or otherwise, a recording is so outstanding it's worthy of the highest quality vinyl reissue. & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Featuring the sultry voice of Margo Timmins, the precise musicianship of her brothers Peter (on drums) and Michael (on guitar), and bassist Alan Anton, The Trinity Session is a spare, evocative, countrified-rock classic. First released in late 1988, The Trinity Session was named & quot;Album of the Year & quot; by The Los Angeles Times and The New York Times described it as & quot;a quiet, special record that challenges traditional music. & quot; Rolling Stone declared the album to be & quot;as important as it its inspiring. & quot; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Today, it remains much more than a snapshot of a single day's work captured on tape. So for this deluxe reissue, Analogue Productions pulled out all the stops. & lt;strong & gt;Starting with new mastering from the original session digital tapes by the original recording engineer, Peter Moore. And lacquer cutting by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound. & lt;/strong & gt; The church where the album was recorded was selected on the basis of work Moore had done there with other jazz and classical artists. Using a single Calrec Ambisonic microphone, the results are stunning. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Next, Analogue Productions kicked up the packaging and content several notches. You're holding a heavyweight old-style tip-on Stoughton Printing jacket, and it has & lt;strong & gt;brand-new liner notes & lt;/strong & gt; by author and music editor Jason Schneider. Schneider is the author of Whispering Pines: the Northern Roots of American Music from Hank Snow to The Band. He's also the roots music editor at Exclaim! and his work has been published in Paste, The Word, The Toronto Star and other publications. The liner notes share space with & lt;strong & gt;additional recording session photos & lt;/strong & gt;, inside and on the back cover. Additionally, & lt;strong & gt;the cover has been redesigned & lt;/strong & gt; to remove the lettering and photo distortion originally applied and make it appear as the musicians/artist originally intended. Lastly, this sonic treasure has been & lt;strong & gt;pressed on 180g vinyl at Quality Record Pressings & lt;/strong & gt;, maker of the world's finest LPs, with stampers plated by master plating technician Gary Salstrom. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;The inspired reworking of both & quot;Blue Moon & quot; and & quot;Working On A Building & quot; reveal the Timmins family to be talented interpreters and insightful neo-traditionalists. Mixing the ambitious songwriting of Margo and Michael Timmins with subdued covers of Lou Reed's & quot;Sweet Jane & quot; and Hank Williams' & quot;I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry & quot;, The Trinity Session is an exquisite collection that holds up quite well under repeated listenings. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.pitchfork.com & quot; & gt; The main appeal of The Trinity Session, the Cowboy Junkies' second album, remains its lo-fi sound. The ambient buzz of Toronto's Church of the Holy Trinity, where the Junkies recorded the album around one microphone, colors every song, reinforcing the live setting and generating vinyl intimacy even on CD. It's as if the church itself was an instrument, one that Junkies could play pretty well. It allows Margo Timmins' voice to fill your field of vision, simultaneously soothing and unsettling, while her brother Michael's guitar rumbles through the songs, a little louder and sharper than anticipated. & lt;footer & gt; -Pitchfork & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.theabsolutesound.com & quot; & gt; Sonics are first-rate, as is Analogue Productions' knockout reissue. The sound is exceptionally ambient and airy, with a remarkable sense of depth and a seemingly endless stage. Instruments are creamy-rich in texture, as is Timmins' come-hither vocal style. If you love Trinity Sessions, you'll want this edition. & lt;footer & gt; -Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, February 2017 & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;180g Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Double LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Originally recorded at 44.1kHz/16-bit & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Remastered by original recording engineer Peter Moore & amp; Cowboy Junkies & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Lacquers cut by Ryan K. In contrast to his peers he was the consummate musician. Freddie had an awesome stage presence. No one walked away disappointed from his larger than life performances. He was the triple threat - the musician, the composer, the singer. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This album, originally released in 1971, contains 10 tracks including & quot;Same Old Blues & quot; and & quot;Dust My Broom & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Freddie King is easily one of the most influential blues guitarists of his or any generation. Any blues enthusiast or guitar aficionado would have him ranked high on their list of all-time greats. He was a guitar hero before there was & quot;Guitar Hero & quot;. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Getting Ready... was King's first of three releases for Shelter Records, Leon Russell's Tulsa-based label. In fact, when Russell first formed Shelter, he reportedly did so partly to play out his vision of recording one of his favorites, Freddie King. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Recorded in October 1970 at the TER-MAR Chess Studios in Chicago and released in 1971, Getting Ready... is proof positive that King was the man and that Shelter Records was one cool label. The record includes a cover of Jimmy Rogers' classic & quot;Walking By Myself & quot; and King references Rogers also in the lyrics of another track on the record, & quot;Living On The Highway & quot;. Rogers was the first artist to record for APO Records label and the first to appear in concert at Blue Heaven Studios. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; More APO and Blue Heaven tie-ins to Freddie King include Jimmie Lee Robinson, who while living was the veritable soul of APO and Blue Heaven. When King moved from Texas to Southside Chicago around 1950, he formed his first ever band, The Every Hour Blues Boys, with Robinson. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; The backing band for Getting Ready... includes the stud cast of Leon Russell on piano and guitars, Duck Dunn on bass, Don Preston on guitar, Jon Gallie on organ, Chuck Blackwell on drums and Charles Myers on drums. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200 Gram Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • All analogue recording & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Musicians: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Freddie King, electric guitar & lt;br & gt; Leon Russell, piano, guitars & lt;br & gt; Don Preston, guitar & lt;br & gt; Jon Gallie, organ & lt;br & gt; Duck Dunn, bass & lt;br & gt; Chuck Blackwell, drums & lt;br & gt; Charles Myers, drums & lt;br & gt; Claudia Lennear, vocals & lt;br & gt; Kathi McDonald, vocals & lt;br & gt; Don Preston, vocals & lt;br & gt; Joey Cooper, vocals & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. He attended Middlebury College in Vermont on a fencing scholarship but dropped out to enlist in the Army for the Vietnam War. While laid up in a Vietnam hospital bed, he taught himself upside-down, left-handed slide guitar. He worked as a truck driver, a forklift operator, a saw mill hand, a funeral officiator and at times as a small-time criminal. Due to the latter vocation, he fled Boston to lay low in Oklahoma where he farmed watermelons, hence his stage name. He’s earned two undergrad degrees along with a master's. He painted art and briefly joined Mensa. Oh, and he likes to read Shakespeare and bowls a steady 240. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; No surprise then that he draws from a plenty diverse range of influences to form his unique brand of raw and honest blues. It’s music as interesting as the man. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2010 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Engineered by Katsu Naito & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. & lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;It's Time could just as well have been titled It's Overdue. It's long been time for one of today's most powerful and expressive musicians to break the chains of commercial obscurity. Time to seize the reins of blues leadership, just as his father, Jimmy Rogers, did in the 1940s. Masters Eddie Kramer, Chris & quot;Whipper & quot; Layton, Tommy Shannon and Mike Finnigan are all onboard to give Jimmy the nudge he needs to clear the launching pad. It's Time. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & quot;Jimmy D. Lane's guitar playing will knock you over. His control of his guitar, from the most delicate tonal nuances to the flashiest, fastest licks, is almost superhuman. Only the most masterful guitar players can command their instruments this way, and all the practice in the world can't develop it. Jimmy D. Hopefully it isn't offensive. But let's face it: Dan Dyer has one hell of a soulful voice for a white guy. It's a soulful voice for anybody. But for a white guy?! Close your eyes and you're likely to picture something more along the lines of Al Green or Stevie Wonder or Sly Stone than some east Texan around 40 years old. But this is Dan Dyer's gift - a voice oozing soul along with deeply introspective, serious songwriting. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This direct-to-disc release, recorded in the church sanctuary of Blue Heaven Studios, is so fresh and pure... Talk about up to audiophile standards! The immediacy, the dynamics - slam and delicacy alike - are just so startlingly real. There's nothing lost. It's positively lifelike. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Cutting engineer Kevin Gray, using Blue Heaven's Neumann VMS 70 lathe with an Ortofon cutter head and amplifiers, and recording engineer Katsu Naito have made available for your playback the closest thing possible to a live, in-person performance. With direct-to-disc recording, the signal from the microphone is transmitted directly to the cutter head, which then cuts the grooves into a raw lacquer. There's no middleman. No tape. No tape hiss. No distortion or other artifacts inherent in any other type of recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; And the music? It's killer! The sessions were recorded the weekend of the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads in October 2009. This is disc one from these sessions by Dan Dyer. Sampled from two consecutive performances of identical material, Belafonte at Carnegie Hall was an anomaly at a time when only comedy albums were recorded outside of the studio environment. It wasn't the first live album ever made, but it was certainly the first to be a major financial and artistic success. It stayed on the best-selling album charts for over three years and remained in print until RCA discontinued pressing LPs. & quot; & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Well, wait no more if you haven't heard this marvelous record. Analogue Productions has gone all out for this deluxe reissue. Starting with premier mastering by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes. Then plating and presssing by Gary Salstrom and the crew at Quality Record Pressings, where the finest quality LPs in the world are pressed. But it doesn't stop there: They've enhanced the original studio photography and wrapped up the whole package in a deluxe & quot;old-school & quot; tip-on gatefold jacket from Stoughton Printing! & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Belafonte's mastery in front of an audience was never better displayed than here, a mastery that resulted in him becoming one of the most popular concert draws in history. Producer Bob Bollard and orchestra leader Bob Corman deftly integrated the 47-piece orchestra into the performance but knew when to lie back to let Belafonte sing, accompanied by a small combo of two guitars, bass, and percussion. The concert is divided in three sections: & quot;Moods Of The American Negro & quot;, & quot;In The Caribbean & quot; and & quot;Around The World & quot;. All the hits are here: & quot;Day O & quot;, & quot;Jamaica Farewell & quot;, & quot; & quot;Mama Look A Boo Boo & quot; and others, plus calypso, folk songs, chain gang songs, spirituals, and songs from other lands, representing a veritable best-of package of Belafonte's first decade with RCA Victor. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;From the opening trumpet fanfare and brief orchestral overture to the epic 12-minute version of & quot;Matilda & quot; (which set a standard for audience participation), the album never lets up. It is exciting, poignant, thrilling, intimate, and at times, spontaneously hilarious. Have a seat, sip a beverage and enjoy! & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.analogplanet.com & quot; & gt; Belafonte brought 'world' music to the masses, starting with 'Calypso.' ... By the time these two benefit concerts were performed on April 19th and 20th 1959, Belafonte had amassed a catalog of hits familiar to a wide swath of Americans. ... One can argue that originals are the best but not here. No way! Unlike the original pressings mastered from 2-track mix down from the 3-track original tape, Classic Records' reissue on both 33 1/3 and single-sided 45 RPM records and this new mastering are sourced directly from the 3-track tape. ... However, while I didn't think there was more to get from the tape than what Bernie Grundman got for Classic Records, I think Ryan K. Smith and the Sterling team have done just that, showcased by the utter black QRP backgrounds. ... it is among the greatest, if not the greatest live concert recordings ever made and Belafonte's and the orchestra's performances make it well-worth revisiting. & lt;footer & gt; -Michael Fremer, Analog Planet, Music 10/11, Sound 11/11 & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;180g Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Double LP & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original 3-track analog tapes & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Plating by Gary Salstrom & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Old-school & quot;tip-on & quot; heavyweight gatefold jacket by Stoughton Printing & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP 1 - Side 1: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Introduction & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Darlin' Cora & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Sylvie & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Cotton Fields & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;John Henry & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Take My Mother Home & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP 1 - Side 2: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;The Marching Saints & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Day O & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Jamaica Farewell & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Man Piaba & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;All My Trials & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP 2 - Side 3: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mama Look A Boo Boo & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Come Back Liza & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Man Smart (Woman Smarter) & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Hava Nageela & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Danny Boy & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Merci Bon Dieu & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;LP 2 - Side 4: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;Cu Cu Ru Cu Cu Paloma & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Shenandoah & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Matilda & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

No distortion or other artifacts inherent in any other type of recording. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; A chipped cutting stylus - the last one on-hand - forced the release of one side of this D2D as a tape recording, albeit a very, very good one! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; And the music? It's killer! The session was recorded the weekend of the 8th annual Blues Masters in October 2005. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Born in Prairie Basse, Louisiana, in November 1941, Roscoe Chenier began his musical career at age 15, singing with Rockin' CD and the Blues Runners. Two years later, he started his own band after adding guitar playing to his vocals. Since, he's been a fixture on the southern Louisiana scene. He's also revered in Europe, as are many American bluesmen, though his national touring has been limited. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Chenier, himself a member of the Louisiana Hall of Fame, is the second cousin of the late King of Zydeco, Clifton Chenier. Though Roscoe favors blues, he does include some zydeco flavor in his music. As one reviewer put it, & quot;it sounded like B.B. King and Clifton Chenier performing together. & quot; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;br & gt; & lt;/b & gt; • Direct To Disc (D2D) & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. This was a & lt;b & gt;straight transfer & lt;/b & gt;, bypassing the console altogether. There was no EQ of any kind. A true direct transfer, using a VMS 80, the most sophisticated lathe. You're hearing the master tape! & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; What praises haven't been lauded the immortal singing talent of the late, great Patsy Cline? She died at the height of her career, at age 30, with two other stars of the Grand Ole Opry, and her manager, in a private plane crash near Camden, Tennessee, on the group's return to Nashville from Kansas City. Before that ill-fated flight, though, she left a musical legacy as one of the most influential and successful female vocalists of the 20th Century. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; In the late 1950s and the '60s, country music was essentially a singles medium. This album, first released in 1967, collects a dozen of Patsy's biggest hits — all of them from the country singles market — including & lt;b & gt; & quot;Walkin' After Midnight, & quot; & quot;Sweet Dreams (Of You), & quot; & quot;Crazy, & quot; & lt;/b & gt; and & lt;b & gt; & quot;I Fall to Pieces. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's & quot;countrypolitan & quot; sound. On this 200-gram QRP pressing, mastered by Sterling Sound, Cline's seductive vocals have never sounded clearer or richer; and the packaging on this release is as deluxe as the audio. Analogue Productions has reissued this classic LP in a new deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket. Inside you'll enjoy a spread of vivid color studio publicity shots of Patsy, courtesy of the Universal Music Archives. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Cline's life and career has been the subject of numerous books, movies, documentaries, articles and stage plays. She has sold millions of albums through the past 50 years, giving her an iconic fan status, similar to that of country artists such as Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. In 1992, the U.S. Postal Service honored her, along with Hank Williams, on a U.S. postage stamp. In 1995 she was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Cline was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Before Shania Twain found a new way to combine country and pop in the 1990s, this was the top-selling country album of all time by a female artist. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Reviewer Michael Fremer says of the 33 1/3 RPM version: & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;Cline's powerful, resonant voice and her unerring, more-generic-than-Southern diction and phrasing plus her ability to express hurt and vulnerability (without inducing too much self-pity) helped her cross over during her lifetime. Those qualities have also helped assure her continued popularity fifty years after her death...All of that will become apparent as you play this direct connection to the recording studio reissue from Analogue Productions...The original master tapes were transferred to lacquer at Sterling Sound by connecting the playback deck's output directly to the lathe, thereby bypassing altogether the mixing board. The sonics are sensational, particularly in terms of transparency...Everything from the silent 200g pressing to the & quot;tip-on & quot; (paper on cardboard) gatefold jacket and the center portfolio of great full color Patsy shots screams HIGH QUALITY! This reissue, from the AAA production, to the pressing and packaging quality epitomizes the purpose of the current return to vinyl. & quot; & lt;/b & gt;- Music = 9/11; Sound = 9/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • 45rpm & lt;br & gt; • Double LP & lt;br & gt; • Plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Mastered at Sterling Sound by Ryan Smith from the original master tapes & lt;br & gt; • Deluxe Tip-on Gatefold Jacket & lt;br & gt; • Meticulous test pressing evaluation and quality control & lt;br & gt; • Highest-quality jackets and rice paper inner sleeves & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; LP 1 - Side 1: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2010 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Engineered by Katsu Naito & lt;br & gt; • Companion disc to APLPD2D012, APLPD2D013, & amp; APLPD2D015 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. MAJOR HANDY ZYDECO FEELING 180g LP (Vinyl)
& lt;b & gt;This item not eligible for any further discount offers! & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt;Zydeco Feeling is among the strongest front-to-back offerings in the APO Records catalog. And Track Three – & quot;I'm On A Wonder & quot; – might just be the best slow blues the label has yet recorded. Accordion-led and with half the lyrics in French, neither declaration would look likely to the unknowing, but Major Handy offers such bare emotion, building and smoldering, the performance on each song seemingly inspiring the next. This is a fine record from an artist few outside of southwest Louisiana will have ever heard. Handy is an artist of uncommon power and energy, someone who lays into each of his songs, not & quot;overplaying & quot;, mind you, just flat giving it. Buckwheat Zydeco, the most commercially successful of today's Zydeco artists, leads the backing band here. Buckwheat, known best on accordion, instead plays his first and still favorite instruments, the Hammond B3 organ. Ace guitarist Paul & quot;Lil' Buck & quot; Sinegal, unquestionably the best Zydeco guitarist of the last 30 years, is also onboard, blistering when appropriate without ever stepping on the groove. And top-call bassman Lee Allen Zeno anchors it all, capping what's truly an all-star cast. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 180g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Mastered by Kevin Gray at AccousTech Mastering & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Musicians: & lt;br & gt; Major Handy, accordion & lt;br & gt; Stanley & quot;Buckwheat & quot; Dural, Hammond B3 organ & lt;br & gt; Paul & quot;Lil' Buck & quot; Sinegal, guitar & lt;br & gt; Gerard St. Julien, guitar & lt;br & gt; Sir Reginald Dural, rubboard & lt;br & gt; Paul Wiltz, saxophone & lt;br & gt; Calvin Landry, trumpet & lt;br & gt; Eugene Alfred, guitar & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. When Barry Wolifson from Sterling Sound in New York City called us with the same idea we had been thinking about – that being to create the ultimate test record – he and our audio expert Clark Williams began to brainstorm and research ideas until they were both completely satisfied with what should go on the record. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Most of the test records in the past have been made to test a variety of equipment. This test record excludes silly cannon shots, typewriters, voices on one channel and other useless fluff. This one specifically addresses your turntable and cartridge. It’s designed to provide the basic test signals necessary to calibrate a turntable or cutting lathe as simply as possible. Most of the signals have specific implications, but it is certainly possible to use them in any number of novel ways. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; This record was mastered and cut on a Neumann VMS 80 lathe at Sterling Sound and pressed at Record Technology, Inc. on high-quality, 180-gram virgin vinyl. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Features: & lt;br & gt; • 200g Virgin Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side 1 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; General Reference Level & lt;br & gt; This 1 kHz reference tone will allow you to establish a “base level” for all measurements. & lt;br & gt; Track 1. 1Khz reference tone 7cm/s lateral in phase (mono) & lt;br & gt; Basic reference for all measurements, adjust meter for maximum convenience (in the studio 0VU). & lt;br & gt; Adjust preamp channel balance for equal output. & lt;br & gt; Also used to check the offset angle of the photo cartridge; L & amp;R signals should be exactly in phase as displayed on an oscilloscope. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Azimuth Adjustment & lt;br & gt; Track 2. 1kHz reference level, Left channel only & lt;br & gt; Measure Right channel output. & lt;br & gt; Track 3. 1kHz reference level, Right channel only & lt;br & gt; Measure Left channel output. & lt;br & gt; The object is to sit the stylus exactly perpendicular in the groove. & lt;br & gt; Twist cartridge about its radial axis until the measurements from Track 2 and Track 3 are equal or very close to equal for both channels. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; High Frequency Adjustment & lt;br & gt; Tracks 4-6 are used to calibrate the RIAA high frequency equalizer of a phono preamp. This will be used to calibrate a mastering lathe’s phono preamplifier or any phono preamplifier that has these adjustments. & lt;br & gt; Track 4. 1 kHz tone at -20db below reference level, Lateral & lt;br & gt; Reference for High Frequency test. & lt;br & gt; Track 5. 10 kHz reference tone at -20db, Lateral & lt;br & gt; Adjust the high frequency until the output level equals that of Track 4. & lt;br & gt; Track 6. 1 kHz to 20 kHz sweep at -20db, Lateral & lt;br & gt; The AC millivolt meter reading should stay constant across all frequencies. There are a number of factors which can affect frequency response, including cable capacitance, cartridge loading, tracking force and worn parts. Because of this, it can be difficult to achieve perfectly flat frequency response. Sometimes by making small compromises in the 10 kHz adjustment, a better overall frequency response can be achieved. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Low Frequency Adjustment & lt;br & gt; Tracks 7 & amp; 8 are used to calibrate the RIAA low frequency equalizer of a phono preamp. & lt;br & gt; Track 7. 1 kHz to 20 Hz sweep at 0VU (Lateral) & lt;br & gt; Play Track 7 and measure the output with your AC millivolt meter. & lt;br & gt; Ideally, the output will be flat across all frequencies. When viewed on an oscilloscope, the amplitude would remain constant during the frequency downsweep. & lt;br & gt; Track 8. 100 Hz reference tone at 0VU (Lateral) & lt;br & gt; Adjust LF Eq to reference (which is your reading from Track 1). & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 9. VTA adjust & lt;br & gt; This is an IEC intermodulation distortion (IMD) test signal; 60Hz & amp; 4kHz 4:1 ratio. & lt;br & gt; Using an IMD tester, adjust VTA by raising or lowering the tonearm for minimum distortion. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 10. Standard Wow & amp; Flutter test signal; 3150Hz & lt;br & gt; The Wow & amp; Flutter meter will give dynamic speed variations as a percentage deviation from nominal. & lt;br & gt; Also, the frequency counter should read exactly 3150 Hz for nominal speed. You can use the Hz function on your multi-meter (if so equipped) to verify speed here as well. You can also use to find the measurements at 45RPM. The correct reading at 45RPM would be 4253 Hz (45/33.33) x 3150. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Side 2 & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 1. Anti-skating test; 315Hz amplitude sweep to +12db (Lateral) & lt;br & gt; Signal should remain clean in both channels up to the highest level, both audibly and as viewed on an oscilloscope. In case of distortion, increase anti-skating force or decrease anti-skate until breakup occurs equally in both channels. The left channel information is inscribed on the inner groove wall, the right channel information, on the outer groove wall. Because of the offset angle of a pivoted tonearm, a constantly varying vector force biases the arm towards the center of the record causing the stylus to lose contact with the outer (i.e. right channel) groove wall. Both linear and modulated groove velocity, tracking force, stylus profile, and vinyl composition are contributing factors. The anti skating force attempts to ameliorate this by applying an opposing similar force. & lt;br & gt; It is also accepted that the overall force vector increases as the tonearm approaches closer to the spindle or end of the record. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 2. Pink noise lateral & lt;br & gt; Track 3. Pink noise vertical & lt;br & gt; Used for cartridge “demagnetizing” & lt;br & gt; You can also use this track to loosen up the cantilever’s suspension to help break in a new cartridge. Play these tracks five to ten times after every 300 hours of normal LP playback. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 4. 1kHz at reference level, vertical & lt;br & gt; This out-of-phase signal should cancel to nothing when summed to mono. & lt;br & gt; Any signals still present are distortion artifacts, lack of channel balance, or timing (phase) anomalies. This test can be a second confirmation of anti-skate adjustment. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 5. 1kHz to 10Hz sweep at -20db below & lt;br & gt; reference level, vertical & lt;br & gt; Resonance anomalies in the tonearm / cartridge interface will show up as amplitude peaks and dips as the frequency sweeps down. & lt;br & gt; Once again, by listening in ‘Mono’ it is easier to hear the distortion artifacts. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Track 6. Silent groove for bearing rumble and table isolation & lt;br & gt; During playback of this track, nothing should be transmitted from the turntable to the speakers. Replay the track and gently tap on the rack or base that the turntable is resting on. There should be little or no thump transferred to the speakers. This track will help you experiment with turntable isolation methods and products to be able to get the most out of your playback system. You may want to use a closed or sealed headphone for best listening results, or a stethoscope on the plinth.

In the blues, one of them is Muddy Waters' Folk Singer. It's been an audiophile staple for years. Originally released in 1964, Folk Singer was the only acoustic album Waters ever recorded, thus becoming the first and perhaps best blues concept album ever. Muddy of course started out playing acoustic blues in the Delta, and he's clearly very comfortable in this return to his roots, which was designed to appeal to the mid-1960s surge of interest in folk music. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;Muddy's supporting cast includes a very young Buddy Guy on guitar, Willie Dixon at the upright bass and Clifton James on drums. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt;This recording has enormous presence with ample room for Muddy's booming voice to resonate. & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & lt;strong & gt;Praise for Analogue Productions' 45 RPM edition of Folk Singer: & lt;/strong & gt; & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & quot;The Quality Record Pressing is drop-dead quiet-as silent as the best Japanese pressings from the late 1970s-and the amount of inner detail released is simply astonishing...the sound is sweet, liquid and free of harshness and edge. The dynamics are mind-boggling. When Muddy takes it up ten notches to emphasize a point it's positively explosive in a way the 33 1/3 version only suggests. & quot; Music = 9/10, Sound = 10/10! - Michael Fremer, musicangle.com & lt;/p & gt; & lt;p & gt; & quot;How about a 45 RPM set from Analogue Productions' recently launched Quality Record Pressings Facility, mastered by Bernie Grundman, in a beautiful gatefold jacket with extra sessions shots? It's been ages since I've heard LP surfaces this quiet - as in dead quiet. The expense and effort that Chad Kassem and company put into this venture are immediately obvious. ... Making music together bring this recording to life as never before. It's by far the best sounding and most engaging version yet... analog lovers will be in hog heaven. & quot; - Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, May/June, Issue 223 & lt;/p & gt; & lt;blockquote cite= & quot;www.rollingstone.com & quot; & gt; Worried that the folk-music fad was luring listeners away from the blues, Chess Records directed Waters to record with acoustic instruments. These sessions - by Waters, Willie Dixon and a young Buddy Guy - went astonishingly well, and this pioneering 'unplugged' set is beloved by blues and folk fans alike. & lt;footer & gt; -Rolling Stone & lt;/footer & gt; & lt;/blockquote & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;features & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Features & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;ul & gt; & lt;li & gt;33 1/3 rpm & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;180g Vinyl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mastered by Bernie Grundman & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Mastered from Original 1964 Chess Analog Masters & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Gatefold jacket with extra photos & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ul & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;musicians & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Musicians & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;table & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Muddy Waters & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;vocals, guitar & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Buddy Guy & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;guitar & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Willie Dixon & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;bass & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;tr & gt; & lt;th & gt;Clifton James & lt;/th & gt; & lt;td & gt;drums & lt;/td & gt; & lt;/tr & gt; & lt;/table & gt; & lt;/section & gt; & lt;section id= & quot;selections & quot; & gt; & lt;h3 & gt;Selections & lt;/h3 & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 1: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol & gt; & lt;li & gt;My Home Is in the Delta & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Long Distance & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;My Captain & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Good Morning School Girl & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;You Gonna Need My Help & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;h4 & gt;Side 2: & lt;/h4 & gt; & lt;ol start= & quot;6 & quot; & gt; & lt;li & gt;Cold Weather Blues & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Big Leg Woman & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Country Boy & lt;/li & gt; & lt;li & gt;Feel Like Going Home & lt;/li & gt; & lt;/ol & gt; & lt;/section & gt;

The immediacy, the dynamics - slam and delicacy alike - are just so startlingly real. There's nothing lost. It's positively lifelike. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Roy Head is a kick ass, redneck, rock 'n' roll legend and a real bluesman. He achieved everlasting fame with his gigantic 1965 hit, & quot;Treat Her Right, & quot; which rocketed to No. 2 on both the pop and R & amp;B charts, falling behind only the Beatles' & quot;Yesterday. & quot; & quot;Treat Her Right & quot; — produced by the legendary Huey Meaux and released on Don Robey's Back Beat label — is estimated to have sold more than four million copies and has been covered by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Page. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; Born in 1943 in Three Rivers, Texas, Head and his band of buddies, billing themselves as Roy Head and The Traits, scored their first record deal in 1958 with TNT Music in San Antonio while still in high school. The group released five records on TNT between 1958 and 1961. They had several regional hits before & quot;Treat Her Right, & quot; and Head became a talked-about entertainer with dance moves so wild and fancy he began drawing comparisons to James Brown. And he still brings it, gyrating like a man half his age and working his microphone like a yo-yo. Although Head was a white singer, he'd recorded a song in an R & amp;B style and thus became part of the mid-'60s blue-eyed soul movement that also included groups such as the Righteous Brothers and the Boxtops. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; After & quot;Treat Her Right, & quot; Head scored two more Top 40 hits with & quot;Just A Little Bit & quot; and & quot;Apple Of My Eye. & quot; He also landed a number of hits on the country charts between 1974 and 1985. Roy Head and the Traits were induced into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2007. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2011 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1. He doesn’t always paint the prettiest pictures or offer a gleaming white smile, but he does reach down deep to remind us of our own humanity. Capps descends from the celebrated American Southern literary tradition and his songs deal with the South and the idiosyncrasies of its people, landscapes and tempos. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; His backing band, The Lost Cause Minstrels, comprises some of the finest players on today’s Gulf Coast music scene, including Corky Hughes on guitar, Chris Spies on keys, Christian Grizzard on bass and John Milham on drums. & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt; & quot;...Grayson Capps is alive and well and slowly building one of the most phenomenal songbooks in America today. If ever there were a cat primed to pick up where Lowell George and John Prine have left off, it’s Capps. & quot; & lt;/b & gt; — Jambase & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Features: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; • From 2010 Direct To Disc Sessions & lt;br & gt; • 200g Vinyl & lt;br & gt; • Cut by Kevin Gray & lt;br & gt; • Engineered by Katsu Naito & lt;br & gt; • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings & lt;br & gt; • Recorded at Blue Heaven Studios & lt;br & gt; • Companion disc to APLPD2D017 & amp; APLPLD2D018 & lt;br & gt; & lt;br & gt; & lt;b & gt;Selections: & lt;br & gt; Side A: & lt;/b & gt; & lt;br & gt; 1.
